You have to purchase a ticket indicating your destination. "Top Driver" cars are brand new and very comfortable, they also are available for hire if you want to make a trip both whithin the city and out of the city. In addition to the VW Jettas there are larger cars available. Please visit the web site: http://www.topdriver.mx/

Taxis are the best way to go around the city, fares are reasonable and they can carry up to 3 people siting comfortably. Most taxis in Puebla are small Nissan cars, fares must be arranged in advance since cab drivers do not carry fare meters and every charge is more or less a matter of bargaining a bit before getting in. Hotels usually have informal arrangements with cab drivers so you can make an agreement with one of them in order to arrange a daily pick up schedule to and from UPAEP.

The most common taxis are black with a yellow top, others are yellow with white top. Avoid the blue and white since those are from other cities and they don't know the city very well.
The most common cab in Puebla is the Nissan, black with yellow top. A 4 to 6 km trip can cost from $50.00 to $60.00 pesos.

The yellow taxis are less common in the city. if you happen to be at the Grand Central (CAPU) use only these.

If you are registered with Über you can hire you ride with them.

A local App offers also regular taxi service, please visit: http://www.easytaxi.com/mx/

If you decide to rent a car, GPS signal and maps are reliable and continously updated.

At the Cafeteria

At UPAEP's Cafeteria

The services and facilities in UPAEP have been greatly improved since 2008 when the 24th Plenary was held in Puebla.

The cafeteria provides breakfast and meal services from 8:00 to 19:00, monday to friday, and 8:00 to 13:00 on saturday.
"Cafetería Pico" located in building T

Breakfast

The breakfast usually consists of scrambled eggs, mashed beans, coffee and orange juice. For a small additional fee you can add fruit and chilaquiles.

Meal time

The meal of the day costs $55.00 pesos ($ 3.15 USD) and includes salad, soup, refill beverage, a meat dish and a small dessert. The food is good and the portions are large enough for students. The cooking is clearly for the Mexican taste but it isn't spicy, hot sauces are served separately. When asking for your meal just say "Un menú, por favor" and that's it, After your payment is clerared the cashier will give you a plastic coup for your refill beverage and your ticket. Then go to the bar, grab a tray, silverware and give your ticket to the cook and advance while he gives your salad, soup, etc.

Rush hour at the cafeteria begins around 14:00 so it's advisable to be early at the bar, between 13:00 and 13:30.

Service bar, cashiers accept both cash and credit cards

You can also buy snacks and sodas here

Serving area; once you have paid your meal grab a tray

Additional to the meals the cafeteria sells snacks, cookies, sodas and so on.

Both cash and credit cards are accepted at the counter

Other meals and snacks

The cafeteria serves a large array of dishes cooked on demand such as hamburgers, sandwiches, enchiladas, bagels, salads, baguettes and so on. To order one of those you'll have to read a menu in spanish and tell the cashier what do you want, upon payment you'll receive a ticket with a number and you'll have to wait until your number is broadcasted thru the local loudspeakers. If in doubt, you can ask for assistance from a student, our students are friendly and they'll be happy to help if their level of English if good enough. The Mexican experts will be close to help also.

Cleaning your place

Once you've finished your meal you can take your tray to the collecting cars located around the cafeteria. There's also cleaning staff continously picking up trays and dishes, they'll ask you whether they can take your tray. UPAEP makes a great point about having the cafeteria nice and clean.

Please note that the cafeteria is a smoke free zone.

At the help desk you'll receive your badge and basic directions.

Once you're in the campus it's rather easy to find the meeting place. After you cross the garden area you'll find three buildings. The one right in front is the "T" building, the one at the left is the "A" building and the one at the left is the "B" building. A and B buildings comprise mostly classrooms and two meeting rooms. If any activity is to be held at hall "B-300" this indicates that you have to go to building B, 3rd floor. The same applies for example for T-250 which means building T, 2nd floor.
